Review of zkWorkshop activities held in Beijing and Seoul, South Korea on January 20
The first seminar will be held in Beijing at 2:30 pm on January 20, 2024, aiming to provide an overview of what Aleo is and how to write programs using the Leo language.
Aleo zkWorkshop Beijing offline event was held at the Yuan Space Coffee Shop in Dongsheng Apartment, Zhongguancun, Haidian District. This event is a developer conference. The speaker, Cedric, introduced the features and advantages of Aleo, Leo language, Leo wallet, and Aleo deployment experience. The on-site development atmosphere is strong, and everyone is enthusiastic about learning and participating. However, judging from the actual experience of on-site personnel, the smoothness of deployment on Aleo needs to be further improved.
Regarding the latest progress of the Aleo project, combined with on-site confirmation from the organizer and official community news, it is basically certain: the official plan is to announce the final PoSW algorithm on February 1, and the second two-week stress test starting on January 16 will This is the last stress test, during which the PoSW algorithm will be tested and fixed. The current test is progressing smoothly and the progress is in line with expectations. It can be seen from such a tight schedule that the project team is optimistic about the results of the second stress test and the progress of the mainnet launch.
Zero-knowledge proof (ZKP·Zero-knowledge proof) public chain dark horse Aleo successfully concluded the “Second Aleo Seoul zkWorkshop P2” held at V-Plex in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 20th.
This seminar aims to provide in-depth information about the Aleo ecosystem. Aleo Ambassador Doyoung Kim hosted the seminar. About 50 people, including Claire Sun and Aleo Ambassador Geunyoung Kim, attended the event and answered various questions about the Aleo ecosystem.
In particular, guidelines for practical participation in the Aleo ecosystem are also proposed, including Aleo architecture, development status, and LEO programming practices.
Aleo ambassador Kim Do-young said, “We will continue to hold monthly Aleo seminars to expand the Aleo ecosystem in Korea,” adding, “Now, we plan to target six major cities beyond Seoul.”
At the same time, Aleo adopts an architecture based on zero-knowledge proof and is optimized for privacy protection. Aleo introduces the PoSW (Proof of Succinct Work) consensus mechanism, which complements the existing Proof of Work (PoW∙Proof of Work) method. It features the ability to verify the reliability between provers and verifiers at high speed, whether they are online or not. The Aleo testnet will be launched in August 2022, and the mainnet is planned to be launched in the first quarter of this year, or early February at the earliest.
On January 18, 2024, according to feedback from Aleo official DC channel, Alex, the current executive director of the Aleo Foundation, said that the plan is to announce the latest coinbase puzzle, the PoSW algorithm, in 2.1. At the same time, Alex said:
This is the last stress test, which has just begun and is going well. We are working on fixing some bugs. In particular, we are testing new coinbase puzzles that address issues with duplicate programs causing chain crashes, as well as message transmission overhead that causes some nodes to experience OOM.
According to past information, after the latest algorithm is announced, the mainnet will generally be launched within 2 weeks!
